Easy and Elegant

I hope all my east coast friends are staying warm and toasty in this winter weather. According to the NOAA, 10 - 14 more inches of snow are on there way to us over the next couple of days. Add that to the 30 inches alreay out there, and we'll have 4 feet of snow! Wow! I'm taking advantage of all of this time off of school and I've turned my living room into a cardmaking factory. I like these cards for two reasons .... they were very fast and easy to make, and they look and feel very elegant. You can't tell from the second photo, but I carefully cut out the flower and used dimensionals to make it pop up from the card. Thanks for visiting my blog. For all of you Busy Bee Bloggers, I hope to blog hop around your blogs tonight and leave a lot of comments. I can't wait to check out all of your beautiful projects and inspirations. Stay warm, everyone!

I'm Back From Outer Space

Okay, so maybe I wasn't really in outerspace, but there were days it felt like it. I've been incredibly busy. My blog hasn't been a priority for quite some time now. I also find myself wondering if anyone reads my blogs. LOL
Anyhoo, here is my first card posting in two months. I'm also posting a picture of the inspiration: 30 inches of snow!!!!! :)

Sweet Scrapbooking Project

Here is an 8x8 layout of some photos I took at the 2008 Strawberry Shortcake Convention. 2008 was the first year that the convention had an official Show & Tell time for the attendees. I brought along a quilt that my mother made for me using the vintage Cut & Sew Strawberry Shortcake pillow dolls. It's one of my most precious and prized possessions.

I found the perfect paper for this album at Big Lots. It's DCWV paper that is just $5 per pack! I went back to get some more and it was completely sold out. I'm loving the Stampin' Up Photo Corner Punch. It's a simple way to highlight the photos and bring more interest to pages. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love to read your comments.

Autumn Breezes

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I thought a simple autumnal card would hit the spot. :) For this card, I used scraps I had laying around and a tag from a K& Company box. I like the simplicity and elegance. It's not a very good photo, though, as the colors don't look right. In real life, the card base matches the ribbon and and tag perfectly. I hope to be a card making machine tomorrow. I only had to work two days this week. Yay! I tried to upload a beautiful card that I made, but Blogger keeps turning the picture on it's side and I can't figure out why. :(

Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Life Happens

The above picture is of a thank you card I made. It's simple, but I like it. The next picture is of Grandma and I, taken in February of this year.
This is my very first paper bag album. It was so easy that I want to make another one soon.

Grandma Thelma passed away last month. Although I know that she's in Heaven with Jesus, I miss her presence here terribly. I wish so much that I could hug her one more time or hold her beautiful hand in mine.

During the difficult times of her illness, her passing, and now, our sadness; I've become more accutely aware of the true friendships that I have in this world. The people who take the time to call, send a card, and just say, "Hey - I'm prayin' for ya'." So, I'm on a mission to make about 100 thank you cards to express my gratitude for all of those prayers and generous gifts.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Love and a Hug,

It's So Good To Have a Friend Like You

I found a sketch in the back of a papercrafting magazine that inspired me to make this card. I've loaned the magazine out, or I'd give it credit here. Anyhoo - It's a long card and was fun to make.
Brian's grandmother is still hanging in there, but it's been a very exhausting couple of weeks. I feel like I'm losing touch with day to day life in many ways. However, I'm not complaining. Every minute that I have with her is a blessing.
