Changito says, "Happy Birthday!"

I seem to feel anxiety on a nearly daily basis, lately. I think it's my grandmother-in-laws illness and daily suffering. It's hard to watch someone you love so much suffer so terribly. Over the past four years or so, I've found several way to lesson my anxious thoughts. I love to read The Bible, pray, write in my prayer journal, write poetry, clean the house, exercise, and, of course, papercraft. There is something about working with the paper and the tools that just calms my spirit. It's like active therapy. This card was born out of one of those therapy sessions. I used a Changito monkey stamp and the sentiment is a rub on. I love rub ons. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I know my cards aren't very good when compared to the other Busy Bee Bloggers, but I'm grateful for any positive comments or constructive criticism. :)

Happy Waiting

Wow! What a week! I'm beginning to wonder if I've completely overplanned my schedule. Here it is, 5:55 a.m. on a Saturday morning and I'm up because I need to go to grocery store before my scrappers club gets here. I was too exhausted to go last night. I'm hoping that some scrappin' time with my friends today will refresh my spirits some.
I made this card for a coworker. It's simple in it's design, and I love the way that it turned out. I tend to embrace clean and simple (CAS) cards. I used the Swell News set, some paper I've had for about six years :0 and I colored the image with Bic Mark Its. These markers are my new favorite playthings.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
Love and a Hug,

You Grow, Girl!

I made this card for a coworker that is expecting. I really like how it turned out. She's having a boy, hence the blues and greens. I have several pregnant friends, so I need to get busy on some more baby cards in the months to come. Baby cards are some of my favorites to make because of all of the cute images. This image is from the retired Stampin' Up set, Swell News.
On the topic of Stampin' Up, I'm in a dillema. I want to put in an order this month, but I really need to stick to a $50 budget (including shipping). The following items are on my wishlist: Photo Corner Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Whisper White Cardstock, Top Note Die (I borrowed one from a friend for the card above), Harvest Home Stamp Set, Forest Friends Stamp Set, and about six ink pads. If you were me, what would you purchase?

A Gift of God's Grace

Changito Says, "Thank U!"

After struggling with Blogger for more than a week, I was FINALLY able to post a new card. I just love how this little creation turned out. I colored the Changito stamp with Bic Mark-Its. My good friend Veronica turned me on to these markers and now I use them all of the time. The color is very smooth, even, and striking. Many of the colors match Stampin' Up cardstock colors, too.
I am back to school now so I haven't had any time at all to make cards or scrapbook. However, I have many, many cards that I made the week before school started, so please keep checking my blog.
Brian and I are going camping this weekend, and I can't wait! We are headed to the hills of central West Virginia. I love to listen to the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves, the crackling of the campfire, and the birds singing in the morning. Ahhh.... God's Glory is so abundantly prolific in the wilderness.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
