What are your favorite challenge blogs?

I miss blogging, and I hope to get some cards made and posted here very, very soon. The Christmas vacation from school will give me a VERY welcome break from the chaos I've recently experienced, and hopefully I'll get some new cards created.

I love Challenge Blogs because they give me direction and inspire me to think outside of my usual box.

So, what are your favorite challenge blogs? Please leave me a comment with the name of the blog and a link.

Thanks for stopping by . . . .

Poor, poor neglected blog...

... My blog has been neglected for far too long. My papercrafting projects have been neglected, too. That's okay, though, as I have been delighting myself in Bible reading, prayer, and focusing on my family and friends. Life is good. I am blessed.

Stay tuned.... school is out... I have time to papercraft and a whole lotta inspiration!

Got Pink?

pink-a-licioius card. I love, love, love combining pink with black. Hence, this little creation. The "Bee Well" stamp is another gem from the Micheal's $1 bin. The bee is glittery pink, and I inked the white paper flowers with a soft pink. All of the papers were from my scrap bag, as was the polka dotted ribbon and button. A few pink Dew Drops ... and wah lah!

Under the Weather

I'm sharing this card for the Challenge over at 365 Cards. If you are looking for a challenge blog with fresh and unique challenges, I highly reccommend 365 cards. The challenges they post are appropriate for all kinds of skill levels and for any type of card maker .... clean and simple, or fru fru, and everything in between. Specifically, this card is for Day #38: Just A Touch Challenge. The challenge was to color any image with only two colors, using any method. So, I inked up this "Under the Weather" stampin up set and added only the orange and blue colors with my Bic Mark-Its. The inside of the card reads, "Hope you real soon you're feeling much better!"

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Childlike Wonder

I wanted to keep these cards fun and playful, and I'm posting them for Challenge #83 at Stampin Sisters in Christ. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite blogs because the challenges are posted along with so much scripture, Biblical truth, and encouragement. God Bless the Sisters who post there and take the time to post such thoughtful and insightful readings.

So, I first made the card with a brunette, and then I sat back and said, "Blondes need love, too." Then I made a blonde. I can't choose a favorite. The stickles look much more whimsical in person. The images were fun to color with Bic Mark-its.

I look forward to reading your comments and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Monochromatic Magnificence

Inspired by the gals over at Christian Paper Crafts, I'm posting two monochromatic cards for their Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge #21. I regret that the photos aren't a little clearer and brighter so you could see the details better. They are simple but very elegant cards. Thank you for stopping by my blog. May your heart be blessed in an amazing way today, and may you be a blessing to someone else.

Simply Simplify

"Keep it Simple!" I often say that to myself, with a rather exasperated voice, several times a day. I have a tendency to complicate even the most mundane of tasks. I think it's one of the paralyzing aspects of perfectionism. I've always approaced my cardmaking tasks with simplicity in mind, though. The motivation for cardmaking itself is rather simple . . . to make someone smile when they open up one of my cards. :)
I made this card with 365 Cards: Day 12 Keep it Simple Challenge in mind. It includes on my very favorite quotation from Helen Keller, "The bestt and most beautiful things cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." The quotation is from a Creative Memories vellum quote pack. The papers are from The Flower Stack, and I finished the card off with some Micheal's dollar spot bling, a MM jeweled brad, and some bazzil flowers.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, and remember . ... KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Going for Green

I'm playing along with the ladies at Hand Stamped Sentiments and their "Go for Green" Challenge #58. I didn't want my card to be bright kelly green with a cutsie leprechaun. Those cards and images are SUPER CUTE, but I just wanted to do something a little different. The vintage trim fabric was actually my inspiration for the entire card. From there, it led to the softer green cardstock and patterned papers. The button has been in my stash for 10 years or so, so I was super excited to use it, too. I also used this weeks' Sketch #323 at Splitcoast Stampers.

Thank you for stopping by my blog, and I appreciate your comments.

A Spring Chick

I immediately fell in love with yet another $1 stamp from Micheal's and just knew that he'd make the perfect little image on all kinds of cards. Added a little ribbon that I've had for like six years and some patterned chicky paper from DCWV. The cardstock is SU. It's been great using up so much of my stash. Check out the Challenges and inspiration at CropStop! It's a blog I just recently discovered, but I'm already having tons of fun there and finding a lot of inspiration and encouragement. Challenge #10 was to create something with the theme of "Spring is in the Air." What a fun theme for a fun time of the year!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I really love and appreciate comments.

Inspired by Scripture

If you're feeling like you are in a cardmaking rut, try some challenges! They are a great way to find inspiration and get your papercrafting juices flowing. A big thank you to the ladies at Stampin Sisters for Christ for Challenge #79, based on Isiah 40:7. The challenge was to use a stamped flower image. This image is another one of those great $1 Micheal's Crafts stamps. The little pink flower embellishment was a gift from a friend. I wish you could better see the stickles on this card because it's very sparkly and "springy."
God Bless,

Happy Pregnancy

I don't know what it's like in your part of the world, but here in the Eastern Panhandle of WV it's delightfully rainy. Yes, I said delightfully. You see, I find great joy in rain. I know it means new things to come .... new growth, glorious green colors, and maybe .... just maybe .... a rainbow.
Anyhoo, I am going to spend this rainy day making cards. is turning out to be quite a papercrafting year from me. :)
On to the card .... Isn't this image and sentiment adorable? It's from the $1 bins at Micheal's Crafts. I have so many $1 stamps and they are great quality and stamp very clearly. I colored the image with Bic Mark-its.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

A Bird's Song

So, today marks three years since my Grandma Fern passed away. I miss her so very much ... her laugh, her smile, her sparkling eyes. I miss everything about her. *smile*
The card I'm posting today is one that she would have liked. She would have like the flower embellishment and the birds on the stick.
This one's for you, Grandma ...
Love,
Sweet Pea

A Birthday of Blessings

Some treasured friends and fellow scrapbookers and stampers. (Clockwise from top left-- Donna, myself, Dawn, Maggie, Wendy)This was on day #2 of the crop. I stayed up until 1:00 the first night making cards.

When I came back to the cropping you on Saturday, my birthday, I found these sweet things waiting for me ... balloons, a card that the girls made together, and a card from my sweet hubby.

My very organized croppin spot on day 2.

For my birthday, I traveled with some womderful friends to Cacapon State Park in Berkeley Springs, WV for a weekend papecrafting trip. The location was so tranquil. Snow was gently falling all around us and blanketed everything with such a calm. It was a joyous time with dear friends, and I managed to make fifty cards. Yes, FIFTY! The card I'm posting on my blog today uses a new glittery border sticker from Micheal's and some of those wedding dress embellishment flowers. "Happiness Always" is the perfect sentiment to describe the relationship between girlfriends like the ones I spent my birthday with, too.
